Do you allow walk-ins or drop-ins?

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate walk-ins or drop-ins at this time.  Appointments must be pre-booked through our booking portal.  This ensures that we collect all the necessary information before you arrive which makes the whole testing process go quicker.



How long does it take to get tested and what kind of swabbing method do you use?

Your in-person appointment should take no more than 10 to 15 minutes.  We use an anterior (mid turbinate) nasal swab which is far less invasive than the nasopharyngeal swab performed at Public Health testing facilities.  Some countries specifically require a nasopharyngeal swab for a valid PCR travel test, and we can do these upon request. Please ensure you have this information on hand to inform our nurse prior to getting your swab collected so we get you the right test for your travels.



Some other sites say 24 hour turnaround but the small print says it can take up to 72 hours because of testing backlogs.  Will I still get my results in time?

Unlike some of the other testing services available in the GTA we do not rely on 3rd party lab referrals.  We process our own samples which lets us give you a result in 6 hours or less. 



When do I get my results?
Your results will be ready within 6 hours (or less) from the time you are swabbed. We will email your travel report directly to the e-mail you have provided.



How long has tikkle Scientific been testing for COVID-19?
We’ve been testing people since October 2020 for the film and TV industry. We’ve performed over
34,000 rapid turnaround PCR tests for clients including Netflix and CBS. We have authorization through
the Ministry of Health for COVID-19 testing using Health Canada approved PCR testing devices. We have only recently made this testing service available to the general public at our 250 University Ave location.



Are your tests Health Canada approved?
Yes, they are! (note: Our test results may not be suitable for travel to Hong Kong or Hawaii. Please check with your airline or travel agent).



Can I be tested if I have symptoms (ie. Runny nose, cough)?
We are only authorized to perform testing on asymptomatic individuals. If you have symptoms please do not book an appointment as we will not be able to assist.



Do you have group discounts?

What is the price of the rapid test?

$225 + HST.
